IMPORTANT NOTICE - ONGOING COVID-19 Precautions
24 July 2021
Dear Priston Friends,
Many of you will be aware the the Government relaxed restrictions on public events on Monday 19th of this week, which was welcome to many.
However you will also be aware that the Delta Variant of the virus is still very prevalent in the community and we have seen a large increase in both infections and hospitalisations both nationally and in the Bath area.
In the light of this and in accordance with guidance from the Church of England, the Churchwardens and I have decided to retain our Covid precautions for Sunday worship for the time being. This was a decision that was not made lightly as we know many have been longing to 'Get back to normal', but in the light of the ongoing Covid situation and with an appropriate concern to guard the well- being of the most vulnerable in our congregations, it was felt necessary.
Accordingly, we would request those wishing to attend worship to continue to sanitise hands, socially-distance and to wear a face-mask unless medically exempt. Singing is permitted with a mask. We regret having to continue to apply these precautions but hope it will not be for a long duration. This will be reviewed by the Church Council and Rector in the light of Government and C.of E. guidance and the developing pandemic situation.
I thank you in advance for your consideration and patience.
Note: Although services have resumed in Priston Church (see service times), we recognise that some people may not be able at this time to make it to church, so for the time being we are continuing to prepare an online service for each Sunday that you can access using the link below.
