AUCTION OUTCOME!

We are delighted to announce that the Auction resulted in the sale of 3 paintings for a total of £1390!

  • No. 4 - Foxgloves & flowers in 11 Priston
  • No. 5 - Snow in Priston Lane
  • No. 6 - Stoney Track by Priston Cricket Ground

We are especially pleased that the paintings went to residents of Priston or people with a strong historic connection to the village.

Priston Church is very grateful for the generosity of Kate Harris in offering the paintings for sale, and to all of you who put forward bids. The money raised is a much needed and substantial contribution to Church funds, which have been badly impacted by the pandemic.

Many residents of Priston will have fond memories of Tony Harris, who lived in Priston for many years, initially at The Dog Inn, and subsequently at Old Rectory Right.

Tony made many contributions to the Priston community. He was a keen member of Priston Jubilee Morris, as well as Treasurer of Priston Church for many years. He also acted as Treasurer for the Priston Defibrillator project and was a Trustee of Iford Arts opera festival.

Tony sadly died in July 2019, after a long illness.

The Auction

Kate Harris, Tony's widow, is generously providing 6 paintings created by Ann Parkin to be auctioned in Tony's memory. The proceeds will be donated to Priston Church, whose finances have been severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ann Parkin is an accomplished artist who lived in Priston for many years. Many Priston residents are owners of her work, which often featured scenes of the village and the surrounding area.
