Covid-19 arrangements

The Village Hall is currently closed (with the exception of chiropody clinics) as required by the latest National Restrictions announced on 4 January 2021.

The Village Hall will hopefully become available for use for a restricted set of activities, in line with the Government roadmap, as and when the conditions for Step 3 (not before 17 May) and Step 4 (not before 21 June) are reached.

If you wish to book the Village Hall, please check your intended activity against the Government roadmap and Government Guidance on the use of multi-purpose community facilities, and any other specific guidance for your intended activity before contacting our Booking Manager.

The Village Hall Committee (VHC) has worked hard to ensure that any use of the Village Hall will be on a Covid-19 Secure basis.

  • a Risk Assessment has been performed by the VHC for the Hall itself;
  • all VH hirers will be responsible for producing a specific Risk Assessment for their event/activities - this can be based on an Example Risk Assessment for Hirers provided by the VHC if hirers consider this appropriate to their needs;
  • our Standard Conditions of Hire have been supplemented with additional Covid-19 Conditions of Hire;
  • additional signage has been provided throughout the hall - please do follow the guidance.

Key measures we have put in place to ensure Covid-19 Security include:

  • requiring the wearing of masks inside the hall, except where not legally needed eg when eating/drinking or engaging in exercise;
  • limiting events to a maximum of 30 people (8 + leader for exercise classes);
  • social distancing to be practised in accordance with Government guidelines;
  • operating a one-way system - enter by front door, leave by rear hall door;
  • limiting the number of people in the kitchen (3) and in each toilet area (1);
  • ensuring good ventilation - keeping doors open where weather permits;
  • providing sanitiser for use on entering/leaving the hall;
  • requiring hirers to clean regularly-used surfaces prior to the commencement of their event;
  • requiring hirers to maintain a list of attendees to be used by NHS Test & Trace if required;
  • providing Track & Trace QR codes for use by attendees of any events organised by Priston Village Hall.

All bookings will be subject to prevailing Government and local authority requirements/advice, and may be cancelled or subject to additional conditions by Priston Village Hall if these requirements change.

Look out for announcements from event organisers for information regarding specific events/classes.
